On this exercise we worked with shape shading and value. This is a very important part of creating a 3 dimensional objects. First creating a value chart. Using this value chart, we put shades into a shape. We first drew a circle, selecting a light source, then little by little began to shade our shape following the contour of it and applying less and less pressure as we moved toward our light source. After this we created a cast shadow. I found that the hardest shape to add value to was the circle because we had to had to make it blend the shading and make sure it still looked like a circle. My material of choice for creating shade was pencil . found that it was easier to go back and fix a mistake and shading was much simpler to control. For our final project we had to have all three shapes on different planes and have a clear light source and shadows. I thought this was the funnest thing we had done so far.
